Las Vegas is the place to party, drawing millions of people to visit every year – over 42 million in 2018, in fact. Whether you’re a resident or you plan to travel to Sin City to throw your own bash, these tips will help you do it right no matter what the reason for the occasion.

Choose the Perfect Venue

The venue is one of the most important considerations when it comes to hosting a party in Vegas and you’ll have lots of options, from restaurants, hotels and individual homes like vacation rentals to some rather unique venues like the Neon Museum with its massive collection of iconic Las Vegas signs – it’s deal if you want to have lots of great photo-ops. The important thing to remember no matter which type of venue you’re looking for is that the earlier you book the better, ideally at least four to six months in advance, to be sure the best picks are available.

When choosing the venue, take a look at the parking options, the amenities like tables and chairs, whether or not it has a kitchen, a setup/clean up crew, and the ambiance. Pay close attention to the venue’s existing decor as well as the architecture of the building and the interior.

Hire Talented Entertainment

Another important consideration is entertainment, something that can make or break any event. A great way to really impress your guests when it comes to throwing a party is to hire one of the best impersonators in Vegas. After all, you’ve got access to a very talented pool here in this city – can you imagine how everyone might react if Lady Gaga or Celine Dion showed up? While you may not be able to secure the actual celebrity, there are some excellent impersonators here that can bring the next best thing, making for an especially memorable event.

Buffet-Style Food

Fantastic buffets are practically synonymous with Las Vegas, so you might want to consider doing something similar for your own party. While it might not be in your budget to offer unlimited crab legs, many caterers can provide relatively affordable buffet style menus. Or, if you want to save money you could ask your guests to pitch in by bringing buffet-style food. If you aren’t planning a sit-down dinner, remember that they’ll have a lot to juggle, so you’ll want foods that require just a fork as using a knife could be tricky.

Theme/Decor

As this is Vegas, let the city create your theme. You could ask guests to show up in showgirl and high-roller costumes and even pass out poker chips at the entrance they can use to “purchase” food and/or drinks. Or, get creative and find a way for guests to gather chips, perhaps by answering trivia questions correctly or playing actual casino games like blackjack, and then let them exchange the chips for prizes at the end of the night.

There are lots of party supply stores throughout the city, so whatever type of decor you’re looking for you’ll find it here, perhaps drawing on classic casino iconographies like playing cards, roulette wheels, and dice.
